Company Law
Company law is the field of law concerning companies and other business organizations.  This is the law that regulates various aspects of a company from its creation until its dissolution.  In Cyprus the main law is the Companies Law, Cap. 113 but there are also many other regulations which regulate specific matters.

Due to the fact that Cyprus is the cross road of the four continents, apart from the thousands of local limited and public limited companies which are registered in the Cyprus Companies' Registrar, a vast number of international companies are also established here and that is why this area of law is one of the most important legal areas of the Cyprus legislation.  The main reason why lots of foreign companies are registered in Cyprus, is because the tax regime of the island favors them.  Cyprus has the lowest corporation tax in the European Union.  It provides a tax rate of 10%.
