Electronic Communications Law
Since the introduction of the telegraph in the island to the present-day, telecommunication has become a central part of Cyprus culture and society. Most of the people in the island are using cell phones, faxes, landlines and the internet. Therefore amongst other things there was a need to regulate the business of the telephone providers, the use of telecommunication machines and to protect the human rights of the people which may be infringed by using electronic communications. Therefore a number of legislation was enacted to control and regulate electronic communications.
