Panayiotis Kakkouras


Panayiotis’ areas of practice include Commercial Law, Civil Law, Contracts, Company Law, Administrative Law and European Law.

He is a graduate of Law from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1995 and is also a graduate of the Polytechnic Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with a BSc in Electrical Engineering specializing in telecommunications in 1990.

Panayiotis was admitted to the Cyprus Bar in 1996. From 1997 to 2002 he operated and managed his own law firm under the name “Panayiotis A. Kakkouras and Associates”. In April 2002, he was appointed by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cyprus to the post of Deputy Commissioner of Electronic Communications and Postal Regulation (OCECPR), for a six year term, where he remained until March 2008. He is a Founding Partner of “Kakkouras & Panayides LLC” and holds the position of Managing Partner.

Panayiotis speaks fluently Greek and English

He is a member of the Cyprus Bar Association. He was also a Member of the Board of Directors of the Famagusta Bar Association. He is a Member of the Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber (E.T.E.K.); he was also a Member of the Cyprus Land Development Corporation and the Council of Prisons. At times he acted as Legal Advisor to the Cyprus Radio Television Authority and Legal Advisor on the Disciplinary Board of E.T.EK. He is the Chairman of the “Dr. Lenas Loizou Kakkouras Foundation”.

Within his Areas of Expertise Panayiotis deals with all legal matters regarding Commercial Law, including the operation of companies both in Cyprus and abroad. He also handles all matters in relation to Civil Law, Administrative Law and European Law. He has participated in a series of seminars, lectures and conferences on electronic and postal communications, as well as Competition Law and remains informed as to the developments of these fields.
